Hi there! I'm Edu 🫡

Here's a quick summary of who I am and what I do in case you're short on time

Background

  • Graduated as a Graphic Designer in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Learned of the magical world of Front-end through a website design project.

  • Hopped on Codecademy, gorged on web development courses as my engineering hunger grew.

  • Migrated to Madrid, enrolled in a Full-stack Master’s course and started working on my portfolio while freelancing in parallel.

What i've worked on since

  • Impactful news article landing pages of branded content focused on engagement. Elaborate but tone sensitive.

  • Performant landing pages built for conversion. Lean and focused.

  • Web & Mobile app feature implementations for platforms with millions of users.

  • UI and Frontend systems for video games. Dynamic and engaging.

  • Creation, implementation, and migration of component-driven design systems and token frameworks.

What i've learned

  • It’s not hard, it’s new. Research, analysis, time and effort will bridge any gap.

  • The fast path to growth is through experience, your teammates’ and your own. Listen, think, act and observe.

  • The best decisions result from knowing when to follow and when to lead.

  • Use “Lofi Girl” playlist on Spotify when i'm in "research" mode.

  • Use “Metal” playlists when deadlines are tight to get shit done fast!

My take on Product Engineering

  • It starts with an idea, contrasted in the context of purpose, followed by iteration till alignment is met.

  • Do, improve, optimize. Bias for results instead of a perfect plan. Stay nimble and pivot efficiently.

  • From the first iteration, include a system that reduces ambiguity through the observation of results to enable precise decisions.
